Interconnection Requirements - North American Region

1. Public Interconnection Requirements

1.1  Interconnection at a minimum of four (4) diverse peering points not in the same metropolitan region. For domestic peers, at least one interconnection must come from each of the following three geographic regions: East Coast, Central, West Coast. Specific exemptions on the number of locations may be made, at nLayer's discretion, for International networks who operate solely in continental regions where nLayer does not currently interconnect with other networks.

1.2  At least 500Mb/s of aggregate IPv4 traffic, measured using 95th Percentile in either direction, must be exchanged on an ongoing basis.

1.3  Interconnection partner shall shall have no less than 1000Mb/s of capacity into the exchange switch.

2. Private Interconnection Requirements

2.1 Interconnection at a minimum of six (6) diverse peering points. For domestic peers, at least one interconnection must come from each of the following three geographic regions: East Coast, Midwest, West Coast. Specific exemptions on the number of locations may be made, at nLayer's discretion, for International networks who operate solely in continental regions where nLayer does not currently interconnect with other networks.

2.2 At least 1000Mb/s of aggregate IPv4 traffic, measured using 95th Percentile in either direction, must be exchanged on an ongoing basis.

2.3  Each interconnection shall have no less than 10,000Mb/s of capacity.

3. IPv6 Peering Policy

3.1  At this time we will interconnect via IPv6 with any network with which we also interconnect via IPv4. Specific exemptions may be made at nLayer's discretion.
