Superior Network, Superior Performance

Put the power and reach of the nLayer Global IP Network to work for your business. Our Data Transport services provide customers with a private and secure transport circuit linking any two (2) or more locations within the nLayer Global Network.

nLayer Data Transport is a transparent Layer 2 packet-switched MPLS-based pseudowire service, built on our carrier-class routing infrastructure. This allows customers to pass any protocol data necessary to support their application (including Ethernet 802.1q VLAN tags, multicast, routing protocols, spanning-tree, or any other protocol). For Ethernet Services, the customer edge device can be a Layer 2 switch, with no limits on the customer network topology. The nLayer Global Network also supports large MTU and jumbo frame applications, allowing customers to optimize their networks with support for 9000+ byte MTUs.

Bandwidth On Demand

Unlike traditional TDM-based transport service such as SONET which provide a only a single fixed capacity, our packet-switched service makes extra capacity available on demand. This means that customers can instantly upgrade their services as their capacity needs grow, or automatically burst beyond their committed bandwidth levels, rather than dropping excess data. By shifting the cost of transport from a fixed cost to a usage-based cost, many customers can see significant savings while increasing their flexibility.

Flexible Billing Options

nLayer Data Transport provides several flexible billing options, including flat-rate, and usage-based service. For customers with multiple sites, nLayer Data Transport can provide a multi-point configuration that is a cost-effective alternative to legacy ATM services.

Why choose Data Transport services from nLayer?

  • Bandwidth on demand. Because nLayer Data Transport is a packet switched service, extra capacity is always available on the uncongested and scalable nLayer Global Network.

  • Revolutionary cost savings. Our usage-based billing model allows you to only pay for the bandwidth that you actually used, rather than the maximum you can possibly use.

  • Scalability. nLayer Data Transport services are available in many speeds, including OC-192/10GbE (10Gbps) and beyond. Our MPLS-enabled Global Network is constantly being upgraded to ensure we have the capacity to meet any demand.

  • Optimal latency. By carefully selecting the best commercially available fiber paths from many different sources, the nLayer Global Network is able to provide some of the lowest latency transport in the industry, in many cases offering up to 20% lower round-trip times than major competitors. Lower latency transport services provide improved network throughput quicker interactive application performance, and higher quality voice and video services.

  • Rapid provisioning. Activate or upgrade services quickly, eliminating the need to order capacity months ahead of demand as with traditional telco services.

  • Service protection. nLayer Data Transport offers fully protected service, on par with SONET-level protection. MPLS Fast Reroute technology pre-calculates and signals bypass paths in the event of a fiber cut or other outage, allowing for rapid fault repair within 50 milliseconds.

  • Aggressive Service Level Agreements (SLAs). nLayer Data Transport service is backed up by industry leading SLAs for latency, packet delivery, and trouble repair times, comparable to SONET private line services.
